Please be aware that, if your vehicle does not have an on-board toilet, you should definitely stay at places that have toilet facilities available.
Call in and ask the friendly staff at i-SITE visitor centres, or at one of the small local visitor information centres scattered around Southland, about where you can camp overnight.
They can also provide information on visitor attractions, activities and accommodation.
The Invercargill i-SITE is situated in the Southland Museum & Art Gallery, Gala Street, Invercargill, and has a souvenir shop, internet access, public toilets and cafe.

Southland has a network of Waste Transfer Stations (refuse sites/dumps) that accept household, farm and business rubbish. There are also recycle drop off centres scattered throughout the region that accept recycling from households at no charge.
